(Help Wanted) ArmorWeapon CraftingRatings

Hey dudes, have you ever gotten tired of always using the same stuff every time you play the game?

The usual answer is 'but I need to use glass/ebony/deadric for the armor rating' but is that all you really want?

I have been kicking around the idea of making leather or chain-mail armor equal to or better than glass... I dont want to make all armors the same quality because that would wreck the game but I really would like to see all the other kinds of armor be more significant. I was thinking about a crafting mod thats based on the armorer skill and the thought occured to me about being able to make higher quality sets of different armors based on the skill level and materials used...

Think about this, you like the appearance of chain-mail, but need to use glass armor because its just better. well what about glass infused chain-mail? Im thinking about different methods that would make more basic armors as good as the high end armors but with realism and difficulty. I would think that an armorer with a skill of 70-80 or higher should be able to make armors approaching or even equal to glass and ebony because that player would have the skills for it.

This is just an abstract thought so yeah.

I tried making my own mods and I couldnt even get in the front door... I wanted to do something simple, I wanted to take an existing armor piece and tweak it so it would be more enchantable... I couldnt bring up the item from the list to tweak it... Im pretty sure that the construction kit isnt broken so its just me...

I like to think of myself as a visionary, the problem is that I rarely have the ability to make said visions reality, maybe someone could help?
