Legendary Edition and disabling of DLCs

Post » Tue Aug 05, 2014 12:38 pm

Currently, I have Skyrim and Hearthfire installed. I was considering downloading Dawnguard and Dragonborn; but, when I looked on Steam, I saw they were $40 total. Looking at other sites, I see I could get the Legendary Edition for $10 less. If I purchase the Legendary edition.....well, that is where I have the questions.

1: Will Steam know that I have two different valid codes under one user name/account, or should I create a new account for Legendary?

2: Will Steam have any conflicts between the two, or do I have to uninstall the original, and install the Legendary edition?

3: I do not wish to play Dawnguard or Dragonborn right away, as I am not even remotely close to finishing Skyrim yet. In fact, I am still out of Whiterun! So, could I install the Legendary Edition, disable Dawnguard and Dragonborn, or just not install them at all? If I disable them, can I enable/reinstall them later?

4: I assume my saved games would still work from Skyrim to the Legendary edition. Correct?

5: Anything else I should know or be concerned about?

Thanks everyone!

1. Not 100% sure. I seem to recall adding in a legendary code and it "upgraded" my existing game. But don't quote me on that.

2. see #1

3. You could, yes, but its not really advised to remove DLCs mid game. You can just leave them active and just not play their content, and you will still get the small bonus encounters they add, no biggie there.

4. They are one in the same games. Literally nothing is different about them. "Legendary" just comes with the DLCs.

5. Gremlins. Always watch out for them.
