It is one of my favourite armours in the game due to its rugged look.
I like the rugged look of the body, but not a fan of the helm. I typically do without it.
Ha... you stole my line, ole friend.
I mean... you gotta be chitin me!
I'd like it better if it had more protection on the chest instead of the belly
The helmet is formed by the chitinous shell of some Morrowind creature. Probably an ash hopper or some member of the kwama family. The entire set is designed to keep ash out, especially out of the eyes.
I dunno, theyhttp://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:MW-item-Chitin_Armor_Male.jpg Very http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:DB-item-Chitin_Armor_Male.jpg to me
Can't say I am a huge fan of Chitin. I definitely do not like the helm.
1. fugliest armor in the game. And looks like it's probably the smelliest to wear too.
2. Not the strongest or most durable for the sole remaining function it provides (i.e. inferior defense to weight ratio relative to other armors like Dragon or bonemold, Orcish, Nordic carved etc armor). It's the most inferior (in both looks and defensive capability) of the heavy armor class IMO.
I simply cannot get over what a terrifying looking giant rooster your char would resemble running around Skyrim based on these usep pictures. Chitin makes those NPCs look scarier than Pennywise clowns

I have a feeling that players who came up through Morrowind tend to like the chitin armor more, while those who started with Skyrim aren't as fond of it. Knowing the context it came from would make it seem a lot more practical.
I know that Teldryn Sero is one of the few npcs who can pull it off with pizzazz.
Personally, I think the chitin armor looks terrible.
