You know what I'd like to play?

Here's an interesting idea for a thread: Gamers like recommending games, and gamers like coming up with cool ideas for games, so why not blend the two? What are some of the more interesting ideas you've had? And if anyone knows a game similar to the idea, why not recommend it? Think of this as a combination of sharing our crazy ass ideas, and a request thread.

You know what I want to play? The Elder Scrolls, set in Asia. Serious Asia, none of this anime/mystical [censored]. Think of it as something along the lines of Kingdom Come: Deliverance, just set in feudal Japan or something. One of the biggest problems I've had getting into the later Elder Scrolls games and similar RPGs is that they are games centered around exploration with absolutely nothing I haven't seen before. So take the mystery of the East, the exploration and real time combat of the West, and slap 'em together. The closest thing I can come up with is Jade Empire, but while I enjoy Bioware's style of design, I want something a little more freeform. The other is Shenmue (bless its holy name), but that's modern. There's tons of eastern settings in JRPGs, but those are JRPGs and aside from my personal antipathy towards them, they don't have much in the way of exploration or immersion either. I'd love to be immersed in a somewhat realistic portrayal of historic Japan, China, or hell, some of the Pacific Islands. I guess there's Farcry 3 for that, but then that's mostly just shooting people in a really pretty environment. And it's modern.

Yeah, it's hardly revolutionary, but hey, it's what I want to play right this second. Anyone know anything like it?

Dynasty Warriors is like a better version of Cyrodiil PVP in ESO which is set in Asia. You can also level your heroes, get custom weapons, horses and all of that fun stuff. So there are light RPG elements.

Does that work?

I've mentioned it before... and I'll mention it again. I'd like to see an open world sandbox game set inside a motherboard city.

Haha, yeah, it would, if I had pumped so much time into Dynasty Warriors 5 that I'll be burned out on it until the sun explodes! :D

Maybe I need to learn to build total conversions for Skyrim...

One I was thinking of was Way of the Samurai, but that goes by so damn quickly, and it's very light on the RPG elements and exploration.
