am I the only person who is wondering just how big of a factor those who continuously over-criticize the ME3 ending (which wasn't as bad as people make it out to be) played in this decision?

Big loss. Just three more left from the old guard (Gaider, Laidlaw, and Darrah).

Those endings did catch a lot of flack. He wasn't completely clear of the blame game for that, by any means. However, I doubt this sudden exit was fueled by that directly.

Oh, well at least his talent can be used elsewhere. A sad loss for bioware. a good win for his next employer(s).

maybe not directly, but i have a feeling it may have played a small role (at the time of ME3s release, it was a common sight to see people post on their forums say how they wanted him fired or they would never purchase another Bioware game)..

like I said, I doubt its the main reason, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was a small factor..

EDIT: Either way, Biowares loss, he is skilled at what he does

I guess I'm in the minority, but I liked the ME3 ending. Granted, the extended cut was already out so I never saw the original ending, but I wasn't left with the impression that much was actually changed by the DLC.

I was more annoyed at making me play the multiplayer to get full readiness to get the 'secretz'ending. I didn't like the ending myself, but I dont think it was specifically his fault.

Bioware as a whole was going down the pooper. Their quality of RPGs has been consistently dwindling over the years. Meanwhile, back at the Hall of Justice, Obsidian has been getting slightly better over the years.

So another one bites the dust. Is the rampant online abuse catching up? Is the work environment over at Bioware just not what it used to be in these post-EA years? Or is everyone jumping off what they feel is a sinking ship?

True enough. I enjoyed the Mass Effect trilogy, but I can't deny that after every game they decreased in quality in terms of RPG aspects. I never played DA2, but I think we all know that wasn't received very well in comparison to DA:O. Bioware hasn't been what they used to be back in the day.

Wonder what will become of Bioware without him.
