So I was doing the quest when Delphine the paranoid schizophrenic forces you to "show her" or "prove to her" that you are Dragonborn by killing a dragon in front of her

and absorbing its soul.

So we make the journey to the place where Alduin is raising that dragon from the dead and after much effort on my part killing it..

I had done the first part of freeing the stones in Solstheim since Dragonborn sort of forces its way into the main quest of skyrim by having those cultists attack, then come back to finish the MQ in skyrim.

Miraak appears and ... Takes the soul.. Meanwhile Delphine the freak says "Wait, something is happening"

Miraak says "This one is Mine , Dragonborn." takes the soul and zaps out.

I know there are special scripts active during this quest to stop other dragons from attacking..

Did they forget about stopping Miraak?

Miraak does steal the Dragon Souls from a few of Our characters kills, and hopefully it only occurs two or three times on a character. The number of Souls stolen by Miraak does get added to the Souls a character gets after Miraak is defeated in Apocrypha, but it is annoying when We are trying to activate all three words of the Bend Will Shout.

Yeah, this just adds more reasons for us to hate Miraak. He's more of a pest than he is a villain.

I don't mind him stealing souls, I just thought it ironic that now Delphine still does not have her proof because my character did not absorb the soul..

Game maker oversight?

Yup. He'll be doing that after you get the first word of the Bend Will shout.

Wait. Delphine isn't buying in to dragonborn? If that's the case and your on a PC, try consoling setstage MQ106 155.

Miraak should not have appeared.

My understanding is that Miraak will not start stealing souls until you have gone to Solstheim and read the Black Book in his temple. Even then I thought he couldn't steal souls from you if you were in Skyrim. Only if you were on Solstheim.

I say you got a bug...

It's more that the devs didn't want to touch anything in the vanilla game with the DLC's for some reason.

But yeah, you'd think Delphine would be all "Yep, that guy's definitely Dragonborn, but you probably ain't." Although he does call you Dragonborn...

That's right. The black book and not Bend Will. But it's the one from the Dwemer ruin.

The console command should still work though.

It seems to be progressing. I'm preparing to go meet Melborn.. Still thought it odd and a bit funny that ms Paranoid , Delphine still does not know whether or not I am dragonborn..
