GOTY Deluxe

Post » Mon Aug 11, 2014 11:00 pm

Ok folks, just getting starting in Oblivion and have enjoyed what I have seen. I remade my character after reading on how to do major skills and such. Good info to have.

Now with the deluxe edition, there are many plugins. Should I disable them till I am done with MQ and/or SI or just do whatever whenever? Im sure the second is fine, but just want to make sure. I wouldnt mind taking over the castle and claiming it, but I doubt my lil lvl 1 Nord could do so. Any suggestions?

In my experience, enabling all of the DLC's at the same time will not cause any problems. In fact, many mods require that you have certain DLC's enabled. You should be okay having them all enabled. :)

Bethesda's DLC and expansion packs are all designed to be installed right from the beginning, if you desire to do so. It's up to you. It's probably a good idea, on your first playthrough, to have them all installed, so that you can see what they do and what they're like. Later, if you play again (and you probably will) you can pick and choose the ones you want for a particular character.

As far as beginning Battlehorn Castle goes, it should be fine. I've done it more than once on a level one character. Unlike Bethesda's other games Oblivion is pretty rigidly scaled to your character almost everywhere you go. You'll encounter mostly level one enemies on a level one character, level ten enemies on a level ten character, and so on. I've finished entire questlines with a level one character. So you should be good.

Sounds good and thanks for the advice both of you. I tried to kill the necro at the inn. They were kicking my butt! But hey, just learning the game, i will figure it out.
