Looking for Overhaul mods (Please Help)

Post » Tue Aug 12, 2014 3:31 pm

Hello everyone, I am looking for a mod (mods) for radically overhauling the game. The vanilla release was actually damaged, apparently there was data corruption that destroyed whole swaths of the game that the developers couldnt recover from... I was hoping to find something that would radically change the game so that it would look and feel like it should...

Thank in advance...

Hey! Dont be an ass, I have been in this kind of environment for a long time, I simply dont have the time, or frankly the stress management to find this stuff on me own... And I certainly dont have the ability to put up with condescending punks like you...

Hey now, simmer down a bit. I think you are overreacting.

No, im not... I have to deal with people always coming in and adding turbulence to everything I do...

Its not just this thread, this ass came into another thread where I got into all kinds of detail and frankly investing a part of myself into, and all he can do is take a dump on me because he can...

As I stated in the other thread, I dont have the time to parse literally tens of thousands of mods to figure out what I need...

I would pose that if I cant at least get pointed in the right direction that it would be too difficult for me to even do anything and that I would end up simply giving up on playing games like this, but hey, who cares right? Im just some nobody asking for help right?

I cant stand people who run around trolling without consequence just because its the internet... If someone were to treat people the way he is treating me in the real world it would be an instant black eye... I have enough trouble trying to get my situation together in life without having to take [censored] from little people with a keyboard who wouldnt look me in the eye and say what they say....

Why did you start two topics asking the same thing?

You may find some insight in this recent thread. http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1504599-quick-and-dirty-overhauling/#entry23718333

Everyone has different tastes. I use Maskars Oblivion Overhaul, Enhanced Economy, Supreme Magicka, Realistic Levelling, All Natural, QTP3-R, Better Cities, Unique Landscapes, Deserts of Elswery Anaquina among others.

Its not the same thing, this one is more pointed toward a single overhaul project, while the other is more about collecting a bunch of little stuff...

I make multiple posts to try and cover a large swath of ground that one thread simple cant.

They sounded prettying the same to me. There are really no overhaul compilations that cover everything. You have to do that yourself.

Regarding data corruption. Best way to avoid that is turn off auto saves and always save manually in a new slot. I've never had data corruption following that method. Also meet reload from in game.

No, data corruption as in the developers lost data before the game was released and were unable to recover...

And really, im not asking for everything to be handed to me nice and easy, im just hoping that a few experienced people can point me in the right direction toward this or that, and start from there...

That link you gave me points me toward a few that look like something im looking for, that might give me a base to start from, thank you for that...

I have never heard of anything like that. There are bugs in the game that are fixed by the unofficial patch, but I don't believe there is any data loss or corruption in the game. I think you may be mistaken about that.

You should also check out the mods I listed for you.

I am not aware that there was data lost or got corrupted.

Yes there are bugs and glitches but all games have them.

There are thousands of mods available and everyone has different tastes on what mods are needed. Also installing mods is not like listening to an iTunes playlist (trade mark CCNA). You will need to take time and looking at how mods work and the proper methods to use and install them. If you don't do it right you are just going to run into more problems.

The information that Turija gave should help.

I do suggest getting the unofficial Oblivion Patch and the ones for Shivering Ilse and the other official mods patch (Knights of the nine and the other small dlc's) if you have them. They fix a lot of the bugs and glitches.

Also having the Oblivion Stutter remover and OBSE will help with performance.

What kind of mods are you looking for.
