I've been wondering for some time now why we dont have a mod that adds Blacksmith Manuals to the game? I do believe that there was one at one time but from what I remember it was a little buggy and lost support a few years ago.
What do I mean by Blacksmith Manuals? I mean a mod (possibly a proccer) that would run through the crafting recipes of armor, weapons, and misc items and then remove them from the crafting menu. It would then generate manuals that would be distributed through leveled lists and appropriate merchant lists (blacksmiths). Rarer or more valuable items would lead to rarer loot or more costly manuals.
Also some manuals should only be found in logical places like Dwemer armor/weapons manuals should only be found in Dwemer ruins. Ancient Nord and even rarer Dragonbone manuals should be found in Nordic Tombs.
I think a proccer would be the most beneficial for this as it would not need patches for various mod added items but should be able to read through all of them too and incorporate them.
This is well beyond my understanding to even attempt and with limited time and current health issues I am not up to par to tackling this. I do however feel that this would be a very popular mod and would add some level of immersion to the game. I mean yeah you might finally work up the skill to forge Dragonbone but how would you magically have that ancient knowledge?
