Official: Beyond Skyrim TESVI #42

Post » Wed Aug 13, 2014 5:31 am

This thread is for ideas and suggestions for future Elder Scrolls games, and to keep all the discussion in one series of threads.

We also have an official thread specifically for http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1502486-tes-vi-location-and-setting-speculation-7/ suggestions for future games.
Now that Skyrim has been released the number of suggestions and ideas for the next ES game are starting to show up. We have a long way to go before we get another ES game and all topics like this will be closed and either transferred or referred to this one.

Please keep any discussion of Skyrim in the correct forums.

I know there are other more "important" things to talk about, but I'm not the only one who wants Skooma to actaully be a drug again?

Like, in Morrowind and Oblivion it actually did something to you. It gave you some good things, like speed and such, but it also made you stupid(basically).

In Skyrim all it did was to give you stamina, it's even worse than some stamina potions out there, it doesn't make sense to have it be illegal.

If the next game is set in Elsweyr, I hope we see some real powerful Skooma and Moon Sugar.

Skooma dens, skooma dealers and moon sugar plantations, that'd be something.

I've been think of a way they can make climbing applicable to all races and balance it in some ways. First, I'd have climbing linked to the stamina bar in the same manner sprint is. However, I'd have it drain a bit faster than sprint as you continue to climb and when you stay still there is some stamina gain but it is a very small regen and caps off after awhile. If your stamina depletes as you climb, your grip weakens and you fall off. You are vulnerable to arrows or magic when climbing, but the advantage is to climb to higher places and explore new areas. Races like Khajiits and Bosmer have a faster climbing speed and lose stamina slightly less then other races.

Relying to Clickonthewhatnow ;

There is no exact number. At what volume does a pool become a pond become a lake? What's the difference between being soaked and being drenched? The mechanism is inherently subjective.

I live in a relatively small city. On my way to work, i see dozens of people each day. I don't speak to any of them, and after taking the same bus every day for 4 years, i recognise maybe 10 people who are regularly on it. The FEEL of a living city is less about numbers of people and more about the feeling of anonymity. You don't know or recognise even 1% of the people in the city. You interact with far less than even that. Even then, you consciously know that everyone you encounter has somewhere to go when the sun sets (well, mostly everyone... last census we only had 32 homeless in the city of 300,000)... but you don;t see where they go. Most of them might as well round a corner and disappear.
