A new action RPG being developed by the creators of Demons Souls and Dark Souls, to be released in 2015.
They have made a deal with Sony, hence the PS4 exclusive.
Despite looking a lot like a Souls game, it's confirmed to be a brand new IP.

Although I never buy consoles for exclusives, with the great Hidetaka Miyazaki directing this game I am really considering (eventually) buying a PS4 just for this.

New IP or not, it is VERY reminiscent of the Souls games. I like the idea of the same idea given a new formula. I get the feeling I will be able to play Bloodborne the exact same way I play the Souls games though. Seems like, in a very basic sense, this will be a Souls game; just minus shields/blocking. I have no idea if the latter is true but I don't remember seeing blocking or any shields for that matter. I just hope those weird weapons are not the only types. I would prefer a couple of swords/sword+pistol if a more aggressive type of playstyle is the idea in this game.

Now, having said that, the game looks [censored] awesome so far. I better check my hype levels and keep a firm grip on my hype medication this time. This is what I have been wanting. The idea of the Souls series to grow and explore other formulas for achieving the same thing. Rewarding and challenging gameplay.

The deal was with Sony however. Demon's Souls was an exclusive and now Bloodborne is. Looks like Sony is looking to create another Playstation exclusive franchise. The thing about these kinds of games, is they sell consoles. Not because a lot of people want the game, but because a decent amount will do anything to play it. That is more or less the Souls series. Rabid but fairly small fanbase, but growing.

Well, as much as I [censored] about it, I'm glad to see the return of exclusives. They help give a console its identity, something that was distinctly lacking last generation, save for the Wii. Between Sony's stable of exclusives, Nintendo's, and now Tomb Raider on Xbox, they might be returning to the old school way of doing business. I've been thinking about getting back into the console game as it is, and more exclusives will likely push me to buy. If I have the cash, that is. Because, big secret, I actually prefer playing on console a bit these days.
