Fort Dawnguard is the blandest building in the whole Skyrim

Post » Thu Aug 14, 2014 5:23 am

After playing Skyrim's first downloadable content pack the Fort Dawnguard turned out to be seriously unimpressive, almost "plastic" building that lacked detail and was overall a big disappointment for me. But we are talking about DLC, after all. Rushed development cycle is more the rule than the exception and may explain decrease in the level of artistic quality.

I use realistic lighting mods and an enb and while MOST places are still pretty decently lit inside, Fort Dawnguard is next to impossible. You gotta be a vampire with night vision just to sort of find your way around.

I like the look of Fort Dawnguard. The inside does need some better loving care but then again Isram has recently started to work on the place.

I have no issues with lighting but then I do not use any lighting mods and no ENB's.

The exterior walls appear to be like plastic and textures look artificial. That's my most significant problem with Fort Dawnguard.

Can you guys recommend a mod? There are some floating around on Nexus.

I loved the look of Fort Dawnguard. The first time I laid eyes on it I stood and gawked. Go figure.

Yeah, pretty much this. Then I went and stood in-front of the Orc practicing with his Crossbow. Awwww, memories.

I liked the exterior and the gardens. :P It felt so alive the first the time I entered DG. Like a real fantasy guild. The last time I felt that in a game was in Kingdoms of Amalur. Lovely feeling. :D

The interior design in detail wasn't really good, I have to admit that. It felt cold. It was good enough for me though.
