Paypal Limitations

Post » Fri Aug 15, 2014 7:02 pm

So I've been eyeing something on ebay that I really wanted so I checked my paypal. They told my account had been limited and that I meed to verify some stuff. They want my photo id, address, and my social security. That's pretty shady. I uploaded my id there (which I'm starting to regret), but covered everything except my name and address. I'm going to wait a little bit and see what happens. I'm probably going to delete the paypal.

Anybody have any experience with this?

It depends. As I understand it, Paypal needs your SSN when you have reach a certain limit(make $20,000 a year)and this is a US federal law mandate. Are they asking for your whole SSN or just the last 4 digits? Anyways, this link has almost the exact issues you're worrying about:

Anyways, if you do feel all this is shady, contact a Paypal representative and see if everything is in order.
