What do you prefer to use as your armor? An armor that has amazing stats and enchantments, or an armor that is amazing looking.

Ok, i will bite. I like to match my armor and get the best looking set as possible. This may have to happen by mixing certain set that will fit my character. All in all, armor is meant to protect me, bottom line.
Depends.
If the character I am playing utilizes smithing, then any armor really can become viable with appropriate enchantments and improvements. Even the lowly iron armor can be smithed to the armor cap ( I think )
If my character is not smithing, then usually I just go with whatever has the highest armor rating, regardless of how it looks...except Dwarven, I just cannot stand the look of it.
My character is sricking with steel plate. It gets hammered into better shape each time his smithing skill improves. It looks good and still offers the best protection because he doesn't have the smithing perks for higher tier armours. So, beauty and brawn.
Light armor - Elven, although Glass is superior, it looks weird in Skyrim.
Heavy armor - Ebony, always was my favourite of heavies.
I always choose what suits the character best and never bother with matching sets, fully upgraded armor, or a full amor skill tree.
I won't have to choose since my favorite looking armor to be daedric and dragonscale.
Eh, Idgaf about armor. Real drunken nords fight proud and naked.
looks over stats for me. While a rating is nice, I value the appearance of my character more.
I ALWAYS pick an armor that I think looks the best or physically suits my character the best regardless of the armor rating.
I guess it depends on the character, but I would prefer a nice balance of looking nice while having amazing stats. Best of both worlds.
edit: Alright, I'll admit that looks are usually more important. Does that make me a shallow person?
Amazing looking. I don't pay attention to armor (or weapon) stats. I couldn't tell you what the AR of any of my characters was, at any time in their careers.
I go for looks since enchanting and forging is severely overpowered. Making strength of armor a non issue.
At first I chose my armour based on abilities, but once I became a proficient enough smithy I chose both.
What....are stats?
I always go with what fits the character the best over stats, likewise with weapons. Never paid attention to stats, no matter the game.
I just take the armor that fits the character/rp better. Also I'm dodging or blocking, stats on armor doest matter much to me.
Stats are numerical representation of player abilities that some people spend hours crunching into complicated algorithms in order to maximize the extrinsic value of their associated skills. The sad this is that those people could actually be playing the game while they are worrying about their stats.
which is why I never worry about my stats. I never pay attention to them. I dress my characters in what seems appropriate for them to wear. Same goes for my followers.
Looks definitely. The fact that my character can wear any armor and still for the most part reach the armor cap is one of the things I love about Skyrim.
