The damage Bonus from Confirmed Bachelor seems really nice, but................... I just can't bring myself to get the perk. I am embarrassed to admit it, but I just don't want my character to be gay.

Only if you have Confirmed Bachelor and you hit on him to join you. Otherwise, he makes one reference to his sixuality during his companion quest where he mentions other men having been in his life, but lovers making poor confidants.
