Skyrim short five second pauses every few minutes

Post » Wed Aug 20, 2014 10:20 pm

I have no idea why its doing this... I will be playing and it will stop me right in the middle of the game like its loading something and after about 5 seconds I can move again, I dont think this is a issue with my graphics card since its brand new and I turned the graphics down to absolute lowest setting and turned off all of my mods... can somebody help me figure out whats going wrong? Why my game is skipping like that? My default recommended settings is high and so I shouldn't be having this problem on minimum.

My PCs statistics are right here

CPU: Intel® Core™2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz
Ram: 3.6 GB
OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate Edition Service Pack 1 (build 7601), 32-bit
Video Card: GeForce GT 630
Disk Space: 800 GBs (( Most of its free ))

Obviously you have some background programs running that needs your attention, or perhaps try to disable your Antivirus.

Except that see your file save size. It could be to high. So saves above 20 MB should be suspicious. (of course it depends mostly, how many hours you have invested n your game-play)

I have invested over 400 hours into my game and I am not sure If I even have a antivirus on... I can try disabling ALL background processes but I doubt it could make that much of a deference since usually all thats on in the background is a few Instant messengers that are inactive... like really almost nothing.

My save file size is 13 MB

Well, i thought it could be, that you have an application running in the background that is periodically using CPU resources. It would explain the temporary freezes.

You might want to open up your Task Manager window, with the Processes tab in front, and play Skyrim in windows mode.

Any time it freezes, you can alt tab out to the Task Manager window, to see if another application is ramping up your CPU use, at the same time.
