Load times suddenly longer than usual?

Post » Fri Aug 22, 2014 4:28 am

So I have been playing this game for literally thousands of hours with very minor issues until yesterday. For some reason I went from load times taking roughly 4-6 seconds to almost 2 minutes. It could have been from a mod I used and subsequently deleted which was the Alternate start: Live another life mod. I only think this because I have been using the same mods for the duration of my experience and this only happened after I installed and uninstalled this mod. Is there a way of fixing this? Thank you.

Edit: Strange... It is working fine again. It did this yesterday as well. The initial start up takes forever so I shut down the game, restart it about 2 times and suddenly the load times are 4-6 seconds again. What gives?! God this is annoying...

Delete your "skyrimprefs.ini" and "skyrim.ini" from the Users\[Username]\My Documents\My games folder.

If it doesn't help, let us see your load order.

Ah, you don't have many mods either. I am fairly sure deleting and recreating those 2 .ini files will haved fixed the issue for you for good.
