Skyrim for PS4?

When will Skyrim be available on PS4? I would have hoped it would be on the PlayStation Now service already.

Nothing been announced, so it might take a very long time until it's on Playstation Now, if ever.

I don't think it would come out on the ps4. I imagine Bethesda Game Studios is working on a new project now. Maybe trying to test for bugs this time?

I don't have a PS4, but I wonder...

You can buy games on the Playstation Network. Including classic PS1 and PS2 games which play without a disc on the PS3.

So... can you buy a digital version of Skyrim on the network and play it on the PS4? Technically no it is not a released PS4 version but it might play better on the PS4 as a digital copy? Its no different then how better PS1/PS2 games look when played as a downloaded version on the PS3.

And isn't your Playstation Network account able to be on your PS3 and PS4? So if you bought the game on the PS3 can you not just download it again to the PS4? I remember when I replaced my PS3, I was able to re-download for free all the content I had bought to my new PS3 because it was all tracked on my account.

Your PSN account does transfer to the PS4, but PS3 games you've purchased from the PlayStation store aren't downloadable to the PS4. Also, last I checked, Skyrim wasn't available for download from the store, it was disc only.

However, PlayStation has a service called "PlayStation Now," which allows you to rent, and buy, PS3 games, and they will work on the PS4. This may make it possible for Skyrim to make its way to the PS4.

I could have swore you could buy Skyrim's Legendary edition with all the DLC from the Sony store. But if the games I bought and downloaded on the PS3 won't play on the PS4... I am finding it hard to wrap my mind around buying a PS4 any time soon. Not until games I am interested in playing that are only PS4 games come out anyway.

That's the bottom line of the whole console business. It does no good having the nicest box on the market if it sits on a shelf gathering dust.

I strongly doubt it'll ever happen. I wouldn't want it to be streamed either. I'd have on a disc.

I play my PS3 still quite a bit. I have many games for the PS3 including the Mass Effect trilogy and all the DLC. I just don't have a good enough reason to buy a PS4 yet but I will as companies like Bioware and even Bethesda no longer release PS3 games.

But my 360 that I bought to play Oblivion and Halo on... talk about collecting dust. I turned that on for the first time in 2 years the other day.

I don't know about Skyrim granted the size that it is... But I bought Mass Effect 1 from the PSN and downloaded it before Bioware released a disc format version of Mass Effect 1 as a trilogy set. I saw no difference from playing ME1 on the disc or playing the downloaded version. Now its not as big of a game as Skyrim. So I could be wrong and maybe it would play like crap. Likely though it wouldn't.

And I can't see the network not eventually releasing PS3 games as downloads on the PS4. Sony would be stupid if they chose to do this.
