flickering black screen

Okay, this has been mildly irritating for the past couple days. Whenever I play the game, I occasionally see something like this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EAJiUgAp-0c

I've checked, and it's not my mods. I disabled them all in NMM except the Update.esm and the official DLCs and the vanilla game, just to make sure it wasn't that causing the flickering. It's not.

I just checked my graphics card drivers (NVIDIA GeForce GT 555M) today, and my Device Manager says it's up to date. So it's not that.

I also downloaded this off the Nexus: http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/34/ This I used to lower my Frames Per Second to 25 instead the standard 30, just to test it. Well, it still flashed and got REALLY bad flicker wise when I raided a Bandit lady's body up on Valheim Towers bridge, so I set it back to 30 and have not touched it since last night.

I hAVE heard about something in Skyrim called V-Sync which might be another solution, but I hear if I turn that off it might make my screen "tear" and I'd rather not have that.

I have not tried RAISING my FPS limit (don't people usually run it at 60 FPS anyway?) so maybe I should try that.

Making a fresh save and reloading don't get rid of the flashing either, btw.

Does anybody have any ideas/suggestions on what to do? Because when it flickers, I'm blinded temporarily and cannot move. Just walking when it happens is not so bad, but when I'm in combat and it happens, it worries me as I'm kinda helpless. If this happens when I'm facing a dragon.. hoo boy, that's gonna be a struggle, I'm sure!

Let's start from this point: Do you play with your Nvidia GT555M GPU, or with your internal Intel HD Graphics GPU ???

I don't know! I've never had this problem before, and have never bothered to check my graphics card before.

When did you first notice it? Does it happen immediately after you load the save or after awhile? Have you added any mods lately?

What is your notebook make and model?

What GPU does it show you are using in the launcher options window? Also check here: C:\........\Documents\My Games\Skyrim\Skyrimprefs.ini

Look for the "D3DDevice" line. That should be the GPU the notebook is using for the game.

Hmm, I had this happen to me several times, except the flickering was more violent that it caused a lot of headaches.

I did notice some mods will be constantly "installing" in the upper corner. Sadly I never found out the actual reason for, but it did ruin a few of my saves. I removed some scripts from mods that I don't use anymore and I have not gotten that problem. Sorry I can't help, the issue is very annoying. :/
