This should be fun. Life ain't nothing if you can't laugh at yourself, and we all do dumb [censored] on the regular, so put it out there. I promise we're laughing at... I mean with you. If you don't want to share something you've done, then maybe something you've seen someone do.
I wish I didn't feel like I had to say this, but this is the internet, so I will. Let's please keep this lighthearted. Y'all are generally pretty damn good at being civilized, so let's continue in that spirit. We can have some fun here, but let's not try to hurt anyone's feelings as much as we can.
Today, my Archaeology teacher felt the need, despite this being a 300-level course, to extol the virtues of science. Kind of preaching to the choir, but whatevs. She wanted us to think about how science changes to suit the data, and asked us to list some of the beliefs we (Humans) had gotten wrong. It was sort of sad that no one went with the obvious ones (One guy said hormone levels in birth control pills had gone down a lot since the 60s, the other guy said that we switched from beepers to cell phones since they were proven to be better. Yeah.). So, I decided to throw the teacher some love (Not in the Silence of the Lambs sense), and thought about how at one time, we thought that the universe revolved around the Earth. It was perfect. It's a textbook example, there's absolutely no way I could [censored] it up and make a fool of myself. With gusto, I spoke up in full, confident voice, and said "What about Heliocentricism?" It took me all of about one second to realize what happened and facepalm. Other than the teacher, who understood what I meant, I don't think anyone else picked up on it. http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?s=aa4be9a447862f4d3b805240925b7871&&app=forums&module=extras§ion=legends#
