I cannot find any post on the internet to explain what happened to me. I started the mage recommendation quests with Bruma, and did all that was asked (don't want to provide a spoiler here) and then when I went down to the mages quarter to complete the quest, I found two mages there. A female, and the male who asked me to do the favour for him.

I can talk to the female mage, or I can leave her alone. Either way, if I just wait about one to two minutes, both mages turn on me (without me doing anything at all) and start to attack me, summoning all sorts of creatures to help in the attack.

What is wrong? No where can I find this turn in the story described on the internet.
