Do you think you will ever leave the wasteland?

Its amazing to me how connected I feel to Fallout 3 and the Capital Wasteland, and im sure im not the only one. Ive tried to play Skyrim and Morrowind and what not, but they always seem like filler for time spent in the wastes. Do you think you'll ever depart the wasteland, be it the Mojave Wasteland, Capital Wasteland, or the Core Region? Will any other game world draw you in, or do you have all that you need under the shadow of ruined highways or the shifting sands of the post-nuclear desert?

When time passes on and new wastelands are sculpted into being by the team at Bethesda, will you leave the old for the new? Or will you simply find yourself mastering yet another wasteland, becoming closely familiar with the rhythm of life in the simulated wastes, and thriving in whatever world is cooked up?

Personally, I dont think ill ever leave the wastes. So long as Bethesda is kept alive, there will be new Fallout games, and there will be more and more stretches of wasteland to conquer and make my own. I hope that wherever Falout 4 is, I will feel as close to that world as I do the Capital Wasteland. I hope for everyone in this thread to share how they feel connected with Fallout, and if they truly feel at home in the post-nuclear world.

I'll always play Fallout 3 and especially New Vegas (I'd say 1 and 2 as well) they are games that mean a lot to me, as i've said before the Fallout series is at a crossroads and it depends what direction the series takes whether I'll continue to explore new wastelands, I'll always love Fo1 - Fonv for many reasons but I worry that Fallout 4 will disinterest me with the new games in the series.

I love other game series like Bioshock and Metal Gear Solid but nothing really compares to Fallout for me :fallout:

In all honesty? Yes. There is always one incredible game every year that draws an enormous amount of time from me. Eventually I will move on to another game world with new politics and a new story. I have since stopped Fallout 3 for New Vegas. I have since stopped New Vegas for other new worlds such as TLOU and Dragon Age.

Assuming it's the Fallout universe wasteland, and not The Capital Wasteland in particular, then I don't see myself leaving it permanently. I may depart for a time to another wasteland known only as Tamriel. It's said to be ten miles wide, yet only one foot deep. :whistling:

Not sure if I believe them though, from what I've seen that seems a little too deep. :hehe:

However, there's will likely come a time when all of us have to leave it behind for good, but for the foreseeable future, we are safe(ish) where we're at.

I found myself doing the exact same thing with TES. It wasn't until I decided to accept Skyrim for what it was, and not what I wanted it to be, or even what I (rightfully or not) felt it should be, that I was able to begin enjoying it. That said, the writing is still sub par, as are the quests. Should Bethesda improve in those two areas alone and nothing more, I'll consider that a decent start in bringing a little depth back to TES (and hopefully Fallout)
