Black Book: Perception of the Expanse

Post » Mon Sep 01, 2014 8:17 am

This correspondence contains a translated excerpt of a Black Book recovered from the ruins of the Reythsevith Sea Temple just 135 whale-strides southwards from the ice-drowned port of Jylkurfyksewuth. Exact coordinates are enclosed within. The speech-scribes believe the volume was inscribed from the journal of a sailor who embarked on a voyage across the Sea of Ghosts during the Age of the Return. Further translation of the tome is ongoing yet progresses like a hawk in the rain.

[DATE REDACTED]

I stand upon this cragged ledge looking out to the sea in all its majestic glory. Fortune is in my favour, as I have been blessed with nimble clouds and tranquil winds. Yet despite the calmness brought before me, my unsettled mind drifts yonder to places undiscovered and sights unseen. What may I find beyond the salty void? Decadent cities teeming with ten-thousand peoples? Or barren wastelands whose splendour is an echo stemming from the dreams of hermits and madmen?
