Recommended Mods for a non-Dovahkiin please

Post » Tue Sep 02, 2014 12:40 am

I'd like my next character not to be the Dragonborn.

Last time I did that, I just avoided seeing the Jarl of Whiterun after escaping the tutorial. But I figure there might be some good mods I should be using instead. I did search for some but I'm wondering if there are some mods people would like to recommend.

For example,

- Skip the Main Quest part where your asked to visit Dragonreach and eventually are called to the Grey Beards

- Don't get powers from wordwalls

- Don't absorb dragon souls

or similar.

Thanks.

You skip all of the opening, get placed in a location of your choosing (or at random) you have complete control over dragon spawns, soul absorption and word walls. Choose starting equipment and spells. All the good stuff.

However, it counts the Dragon Rising quest as completed, so don't be surprised if mod characters like the ones in 3DNPC out you as Dragonborn even if you didn't actually do any of it. I think they should make a patch or something. :C

But everything in vanilla and DLC's don't really recognize you as dragonborn, so it should be fine.

Arthmoor's Live Another Life. You won't start the main quest until and unless you do some investigating.

I'm completely remaking my non dragonborn mod:

- walls don't teach words,
- player doesn't not absorb dragon souls,
- player becomes Thane of Whiterun (about) the same way as he does in the vanilla game, except that the greybeards do not call him/her, etc.
- player can have access to Skuldafn, but not to Sovngard,

and so on.

The vanilla version is 99 % finished, if you are intersted.

I still have to make the Dawnguard and Dragonborn (the tricky part) extensions of this mod though. It's up to you.

Thanks everyone.

Ladyonthemoon, your mod sounds exactly like what I'm looking for. Is the 99% finished version posted anywhere?

(I've had Dawnguard and Dragonborn loaded for months but never played anything specific to them yet, so that part doesn't affect me at the moment.)
