Retextures, anyone?

Post » Sat May 15, 2010 7:20 am

I have been recently learning how to retexture things, and I must say it is quite fun. So here is what Im requestion: Requests for retextures. i would prefer if the texture is already made, but if its not, I'll do my best to find something like it or make it myself. So pretty much anything will do, as long as its not like retexturing all of Cyrodiil. :P

HMMMMMMMM.

Would you be willing to add, say, face tattoos to a custom race (not one that I made)? I could ask the original author n such.

I have an idea for a retex involving the Elven Longsword & Elven Claymore. Change the blades to a Welkynd Stone type texture(blue, green and white versions {and maybe red and purple}) and the handle and guard to the silver texture of the blades.

Yeah, I'd like you to retexture peoples brains so they automatically think to OMOD their mods before releasing them....

:flamethrower:

Seriously though, why not start off with something you can show to people as a sort of portfolio? Me, for instance, I'd love to see more facial and body tattoo mods, and maybe someone find a way to make the 'beard shadow' textures in game, and the base skin textures, not look so pixellated. Peoples machines can handle very high res textures now, but theres not many uber high texture tatts and skins out there.

Maybe even find a way to alter the blasted skin 'color' textures and values so dark elves stop coming out of the generator looking blue...

Also...hang tight..I'm writing down your screen name, as I'm currently working on an Oblivion mod as well as continuing work on my teams Fallout 3 mod, and might need a texture guru soon!

I would love to see improved retextures for the following:

1. Forts (ruins and the dungeons)

2. Cobwebs. There is a modders resource containing new cobwebs.

3. Mountains and snow areas

4. Grass and grasslands

5. Some creatures including atronachs and zombies.

Some of these are big jobs but they would really improve the game for me.

Are you familiar with UV mapping? If so, I would have a work for you.
And even if you do not, I have some robes taht are in a sever need of a texture artist. Here are some examples of what I have. If you are interrested, drop me a PM with your e-mail, and I'll send you the meshes.

Not so much as a retexture, but simply changing the textures in nifskope I presume. Or maybe a retexture.

Basically, I would like retextures of the Leyawin lower class houses to look more like the normal lower class houses.

Also the middle and upper class Leyawin houses, and possibly Skingrad houses made to look like the middle class Chorrol houses.

I think I've got a request for you.

I'm using a Slof's Clouded Leopard textures and meshes for Khajiit race. The thing is, they have specific eye textures end mesh, that are incompatible both with these ones from default Oblivion and Beautiful People mod. My request is to change eye textures I'm using to make them compatible with Beautiful People eye mesh.

Textures: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=WNYHH13W
Meshes, if necessary: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=L00E8XWH

The final result could be that their eyes will still look http://b.imagehost.org/0150/Khajiit.jpg while using Beautiful People eye mesh, and be compatible with vampire eye texture from this mod.

Can be done? :)

Hi Googlepox,

Basically what I wanted were more detailed or hi-res textures for the things I mentioned. This is possible as Qarl proves. However I think Qarl mucked up some of the fortress and dungeon retextures. THe best way to do retextures may be to look at photos of castle ruins, grasslands, mountains, etc and see how close your designs can get. I always thought the grasslands and mountain areas in Oblivion were poorly designed and could have been more realistic. Finding internet photos of these things may be your best option. Whatever you do, I wish you good luck.
