Anyone ever do this? This idea works perfectly for my Argonian spellsword, whom I could not decide how to run. I've wanted to run a Vigilant but don't want to start a new file so I'm bending the rules with him a little (and not using the gear you usually find on Vigilants). Since he is a master smith and enchanter, he's using Dragonscale Boots and Gauntlets with College Robes and Mage Hood (with a focus on Destruction enchants). I also gave him an unsmithed Fire/Shock enchanted Dragonbone Mace. It looks amazing and it's actually a bit of challenge so I use Flesh spells with this build (which I rarely use). Basically I use Wall spells to soften foes and then finish them off with the mace (or Impact Dualcast other Expert Destruction spells on tougher things like Giants and Dragons). I'm actually running him though the Companion's quests now but will move onto Winterhold and then Dawnguard and Dragonborn. The build looks good for general exploration/looting so I'll do that with him afterwards. He'll basically pick up and sell anything worth at least 100 gold as is but he will keep and store the unique spoils of "preternatural" foes he kills (Falmer Ears, Troll Fat, Vampire Dust, etc.). He also keeps books on bestial and magical subjects for his research.
