Morrowind, Yes Or No?

Hey guys! Sorry about another one of these threads, but a lot of other's I've found don't answer all the questions I have.

I'm looking at buying Morrowind and the hardware seems to be the issue for me. My first ES game was Skyrim. I think I had the same experience as the majority of people: With my first playthrough I was bewildered with the depth of it all and just how large the game world was. However, after my second i soon realised I had already done everything. It became boring and repetitive and I soon realised I'd bought an "RPG/Action game". I was looking for something that was more in depth in both story writing and gameplay. I found a second hand copy of Oblivion and I think by now I've racked up more hours on that than Skyrim :D. I didn't find the transition all that jarring graphics wise so I think I'll be able to handle an unmodded Morrowind.

The real issue is: Will I be able to play it on my platform? I would much rather play it on PC than console, but all I've got is an old laptop. Seeing as the graphics are somewhat outdated I thought this might limit the problems I'd encounter... But is it possible to play on an old 2009 model laptop? I've also heard that it was never released for Sony, is Playstation3 out of the question?

I've only heard good things about Morrowind from everyone on the forum and I'm itching to play something that properly combines TES Lore and roleplaying; Something I don't think I've properly experienced on the later two titles. It's over a decade old and it's still getting love for god's sake!

Any feedback is welclome, thanks guys! :D

well you can forget all about playstations. The only console morrowind is avaiable is for old xbox. I think you won't have many problems with the laptop but without knowing your specs idk.

Thanks! I've got no clue about my specs, I'm not all that in to computers. In fact, the complete summary of my knowledge of the laptop is a sticker that has miraculously managed to stay stuck over the years . This is what it says:

CPU: Display: ODD: Wireless: HD: Memory: OS:

Duo T5450 15.4" WXGA DVD Sup.MTI. 802.11abgn+BT 160GB 1024MB VistaPremium

(probably not required)

Not being a computer guy I'm not sure if any of that helps or is even relevant.

I don't think you'll have any problems running Morrowind on even a 2009 laptop with Intel graphics, as long as you stay away from graphic overhaul mods such as MGE.

I would, however, highly recommend you at least get http://www.fliggerty.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?t=1008 and the http://www.paulcarr.com.au/elderscrolls/patch/. Despite the similarity in names they actually do very different things, and both of them fix innumerable bugs found in the vanilla game and make it much more enjoyable to play.

And if you ever need to find out what your system specs are, running a Dxdiag report is the best way to find out. To run it, hit the Start button, type dxdiag in the Search box, then hit the Enter key. If you hit the Save All Information ... button in the Dxdiag tool, you can save the report as a text file which you can copy and paste into a post here.
