about the factions and villainhero attitude

hey its my first post in forums

i read i can put spoilers here so,

ANTI SPOILER IF YOU HAVE NOT FINISHED THE QUESTS OF ALL FACTIONS READ BELOW AT YOUR OWN RESPONSIBILITY

I believe of factions of game push you to be a villain and not a hero. I have bought the game 2 months ago (200h in game) and while i enjoyed the flexibility i must say, being good and honorable is not choice and when it is, its not so rewarding.

I will list most of what i can remember

companions essensially force you to become a ww and pledge loyalty to hircine. Ok you can cure later but...if you dont like it in first place, its kinda forces you. Plus you are not so honorable as they slay. You slay anyone against you and in some quests you even bully citizens...Ironically, you kill more people with companions than with dark brotherhood.

college meh, it was kinda neutral you were not evil, But its only viable for mages. If you wanna be the tranditional warrior, you cant. (even if u play with your weapon, you have to use fire/frost and the eye of magus)

dark brotherhood

i could live with the assasin part cause you know, in this game you kill everything anyway :P

so instead of killing 10 bandits with companions, you kill 1 person per quest and its cool

why i didnt like, was the cult-love-dead-people thing

thieve guild

ironically the thieves guild is the best in that aspect. You avoid killing many people and if you rp aswell you kill even less.

I mean realistically, even for no reason, you were to be executed and you found a way out

So you have the option of at least forging business ledgers. Pretty much almost no harm to anyone. (hehe i study accounting so i shouldnt be saying that)

I mean still you have to make a contract with a daedra which is bad, but its at the end of the questline so you dont lose many things. Still its quite enjoyable and you can do the side quests at your hearts content to become rich without forcing you to finish it.

I like the "dont kill if you dont have to attitude"

They give you choices

imperials

you just pretty much side with a group of royals slaying everyone they disagree with just cause they can and they believe they are "right"

stormcloaks

i could understand them wanting to protect their soveignity but...murding the high king? they lost their right.

blades

they boss you around to do they dirty work, not cool

greybeards, well they offer limited options and few rewards, so....

dawnguard "good" side

1 evil vampire=> we must exterminate the entire race

ofc we should be at war with them...but imagine exterminate all species dangerous to humans...skyrim would be empty

harkon side

basically you have to be the spawn of a daedric devil or something

if you dont join sides and play lone wolf

options ?

be like a mafia thug and slay every living thing outside of walls of the hold just so jarl gives you 100g

or sell pots and armors u create

i like that

but to be effective

you need smith or alchemy lvl 50 + and haggling lvl 2-3

and till then...you just kill everything

or you can lose 10 months of your real life, gathering money by chopping wood :P

Is it only my idea or game is "be a villain or no cookie"

the relative best "human-like" playthrough you can do is

join thieves guild and steal only from the super rich or just do business ledging.

Yea, playing through the majority of the content makes a character a pretty bad person. If I play a good or reasonable character I destroy the Dark Brotherhood, ignore the Thieve's Guild, and possibly ignore the Companions. It results in missing out on a few dungeons and word walls, but I hardly ever shout anyway. I don't consider either civil war side to be bad/evil though, just fighting for what they believe in.
