My magic does 0 damage - How do I fix it?

Post » Sat Sep 20, 2014 5:41 pm

I already know what my error was - I installed the SkyRe mod and used an old save. Before I did, I had armor that was enchanted with Fortify Destruction in order to give myself free spells. I played the game for several hours after this until I finally decided to change my armor. In SkyRe, this enchantment changes to make Destruction spells do more damage instead of costing less Magicka.

I put on a new set of gear that followed the rules of what SkyRe gives to make the game more challenging, and swapped it with Fortify Magicka gear. Thing is, now all my spells don't do ANY damage.

I suspect that the Fortify Destruction enchantments was used to be my actual baseline destruction spell damage. Therefore, when I took off the gear (adding up to 100%,) it caused mine to be at 0% damage. (I never really had 200% destruction in that case... :( )

A quick fix is to obviously enchant something to give me 100% destruction.

But I am looking for a more permanent solution to this issue, before I decide to go that route. I am having a hard time finding console commands that deal with actual player character stats.

Thank you in advance

New characters are fine. I don't have this issue. I believe it has to do with the previous enhancements being on the character when I switched it over.

It's a general rule of thumb to start a new character when you install a giant overhaul like that, and start a new one when you remove it. In fact I would be very surprised if using an old character would work just fine after installing an overhaul as big as SkyRe. :P

It was actually working quite well until I ran into this issue. I was surprised myself!

Look at the DestructionMod and DestructionPowerMod ActorValues, I don't know which of them is the one that the enchantment modifies.

Wasn't sure what you meant (I googled it) and after testing it out, I fixed it.

To clarify, I did:

player.avc destructionpowermod 100

Do player.avc destructionpowermod 0 to make it the default ***

100 is super overkill megalord.

And it got it right back to normal.

Thanks a lot!
