God Dog Doesn't Regen Health?

Post » Tue Sep 23, 2014 11:14 pm

Finally got around to trying the Dead Money DLC and I have really enjoyed it so far.

I noticed God/Dog doesn't seem to regen health after he's out of combat, at least that is the case in "God" mode (haven't given him the command to switch to his Dog personality yet). I can give him stimpaks which increase his health slightly, but he never goes back to full health.

Just wondering if this is intended, or perhaps some sort of mod issue? The other NPCs in Dead Money regen health normally as soon as they are out of combat.

I had the same thing happen to me on at least one playthrough. I assumed it was some sort of glitch and used the console to give him back health.

if i remember right, he doesnt regen health because of something to do with him not being a complete follower or something. the wiki has more info on it i think.

He does have an inordinate amount of health anyway though doesn't he? I'm sure I've heard it can top 1000 depending on your level, so you shouldn't have much of an issue.

Also, if you can't restore his health, you can explore all the villa without companions and just quickly run them to their destinations once all the ghost people have been cleared out. It's what I did last time so they didn't get in my way, as far as I can tell very few (if any) ghost people respawn until you trigger the Gala event.

I like to explore around with Dog and let him clear out the Ghost People. He definitely regains health after combat. In general you have to babysit the companions a little, because if they die, so do you.

You can also just tell them to go to the fountain after you recruit them, they always seem to make it there safely.

It's God.

Still, he has enough health that this shouldn't be too much of an issue. Even if it is, you can briefly switch him to Dog, let him kill an enemy and viola.

you can use stimpacs to heal the sidekicks there and can give the other two armor and weapons.
