Forever addicted to Ant Nectar, help!

Post » Sat May 15, 2010 2:42 pm

I made the mistake of falling for a chem and so of course, I became addicted. Addicted to Ant Nectar. It's sweet, sweet smell drew me in and once I tasted it, I was hooked! The benefits were wonderful! Oh if only I could have kept using! But eventually my Ant Nectar supply dwindled and then finally dried up.

Naturally, I began to suffer from ... ANT NECTAR WITHDRAWAL!!!

So I made a beeline for the closest doctor to detox me for some caps. I went to Doc Mitchell in Goodsprings first, thinking this guy patched me up after taking a bullet to the brain, he can definitely cure my addiction! But alas, no such luck. The screen did fade to black the first time, but then nothing. The second time, immediately after the first, the screen did NOT fade to black. And this poor Ant Nectar junkie was still addicted. BUT THE JERK TOOK MY CAPS ANYWAY!!

I've tried the caravan doctor in Novac. I've tried the good looking chick at the New Vegas Medical Clinic. I've tried taking Ant Nectar again (thank you Boomers for having an ant problem!) and going back to the doctor while I wasn't suffering from withdrawal, but nothing has worked.

Please Bethesda Softworks (a Zenimax Media Company) cure me of my Ant Nectar woes!!

P.S. On a serious note, this is a horrible symptom of a glitch and bug filled game. This is unacceptable. Losing -2 Strength is not just a little "oops". It's a huge "CRAP!" Please try to address this in one of your patches. Thank you.

Ah yes, "fixer". I should have mentioned that in my original post. (Perhaps all of this Ant Nectar withdrawal is messin' with my memory!)

I did try to take Fixer a few times. While the tip at the top of the screen says "addictions removed", my status does not change. My poor face is still saying "yucky" and under EFF in my pip-boy the only effect that changes is "Fixer: Temporary Addiction Removal" is added but Ant Nectar withdrawal (STR -2) is still there, holding strong.

I tried again just now. I took two Fixers in a row and as usual the only thing that happened is the screen goes all crazy blue and stuff when the Fixer wears off. So I guess I'm just going to be a junkie for the rest of my journey! :cryvaultboy:

Thank you so much for the advice though! Any other tips would be much appreciated!

It's incurable. I made a post about it not long after release. I actually ended up starting over because of it.
