I am HUGE fan of boardgames. I grew up playing them and had a great group of friends that also enjoyed them. Well, my friends have all moved away and I get a hankerin' every now and again to play board games, Since I am not an "outgoing person", I look to my PC for help
My list (thus far):
Rail Empires: Iron Dragon - Need to buy (no longer supported or available, I think)
Rail Baron - Need to buy
Empire Builder - Need to buy
Acquire - free DOSBox Game
San Juan - free card version of Puerto Rico
Puerto Rico - free
Modern Art - free
Settlers of Catan I bought from Microsoft, but I think it is free on the MSN Games site, maybe?
St. Petersburg - free created in German, but has an English patch
Most of these are free games. Rail Baron, Empire Builder, and Rail Empires: Iron Dragon I purchased.
Rail Baron and Empire Builder are from the same company and I have some issues with their "licensing."
The AI ranges drastically for each game
Rail Empires: Iron Dragon is the worst AI I have come across. Too many times, a computer player will sit in one spot (at the end of their track line) even though they have the money to keep building. Also, the AI has a tendency to forgo a winning delivery for a more lucrative, further away delivery.
What board games have you found to play on your PC and what do you think of them?
