Unarmed character?

Post » Thu Sep 25, 2014 9:14 am

I'm looking for ways to make a monk / unarmed character fun. I'm playing Skyrim on PC, so definitely recommend mods if you know any good ones!

What I'm mostly looking for is some way to make the combat work; I was thinking of a bow for long range, Restoration magic and of course unarmed combat, but in vanilla that's pretty boring.

Apart from that, any good mod / RP suggestions that have to do with monks are welcome.

I know that the heavy armour skill has a perk that increases damage dependent on how good your heavy armoured gauntlets are.

Aside from that, you can add unarmed damage with enchanting. And ofcourse the Khajiit have a bonus to unarmed damage, which I think is a good race anyway if you want that ''monk'' feeling.

Restoration and a bow should work perfectly fine, I can actually recommend it so that you have some reliable skills that help you level up. Given that unarmed is no skill.

But for mods? I don't know any. In Skyrim, I always felt that unarmed had more of a ''wrestling'' aproach.

I miss the way unarmed worked in Morrowind. Unarmed damaged fatigue and when it hit 0 your opponent would fall flat on it's back in a faint. I loved punching an ogre until it fell over then waiting until it got up and punching it again to drop it back on it's back. Of course at low levels it was frustrating to be constantly felled to the ground by some opponent and having to swig restore fatigue potions.

An unarmed combat build works great with a khajiit IMO. You get their claw damage bonus for unarmed attack. Now I don't know if that can be stacked with the heavy armor unarmed perk however.

see if those mods will work for you.
