Costume Mods

Post » Sat Sep 27, 2014 4:30 am

Hiya folks,

I'm new to the whole modding thing and I was wondering if you can help me out. I downloaded some clothing mods and installed them, but when I log into the game they are not in my inventory, do I need to go somewhere in game to pick them up? If so, where specifically? Nexus Mod Manager says it was installed properly so I have no clue where to look.

Thanks!

Are they supposed to just appear in your inventory? Most armor/weapon/clothing mods I've seen require you to purchase, make, or find the items. Check the description and instructions for the mod you're using.

they won't appear in your inventory.

You'll have to check the mod description to see how to get the clothing or armor. Some armor or clothing mods will let you craft the items. Some will only let you buy them from certain shops. Still others put a chest on the coc qasmoke room.

If you know the name of the clothing you want. enter "help nameofitem" So... as an example say the item is a fancy dress and that is what its named. enter "help fancy" into your console command window. (without the quotes) You will then see the ID# for the fancy dress.

Now enter "player. additem ID# (for fancy dress) 1" (would look something like this) "player. additem 0005b3d6 1"

and done correctly 1 fancy dress will appear in your inventory.

Thank you so much I was able to find them thank you. Now one more question, how do I equip them on my followers? I have Lydia at the moment and even when I take off all the armor I gave her and give her the mod clothes, she just stays in her basic armor.

Thanks!

It may be that the armor rating of the modded armor is lower than her base armor, so she won't switch it.

Followers don't typically equip new gear unless it has a higher rating than their default gear. I think with spouses you can buy their default clothes/armor to make them wear whatever you want.

I'm pretty sure there are mods to get followers to equip whatever you give them, but I've never actually used one to be able to recommend one. I'd search the nexus.

Easiest way to do it. (save in case you mess up)
1. Take stuff from their inventory
2. Open console and click the NPC
3. Removeallitems
4. Give the naked NPC the things you want him/her to have.

problem with that is when you dismiss them or leave the cell, the game can refresh their inventory. I tried that with a wife in the game who was not a follower. next time I entered the cell she would be wearing default clothing again.
