Do you have a plan?

I wanted to get an idea what others may have planned in case of an emergency. In the event that a natural disaster or say "post apocalyptic" type of situation were to happen, do you have a plan?

I started thinking earlier this year that having at least a 3-7 day FEMA plan for my family wouldn't be a bad idea. It's better to be safe than sorry I say, right? So I've decided to start with what they call prepping. Not over the top spending, but just some basics and a family plan.

Here is what I'm looking at in the next month or so ~

Stocking extra drinking water

Extra canned and dry foods

Propane tanks and gas cans

Lanters and oil

Walkie talkies

First aid kits

Flashlights extra batteries

Fire starting supplies

Self defense

A plan for family and friends to meet at a central and safe location. And a list of what to do's for different types of situations especially for the kids if something were to happen while they are at school.

My list might change or grow over time but for now this is just to have at least something in place.

Does anyone here have a plan? And if so what are they if you don't mind sharing?

I inherited some land and a small cottage bout an hour from the nearest town..

granted, there is no power other than what my generator could provide (we use Candles for light and propane or the fire pit for cooking).. if the States ever decides to invade Canada, or some other event happens where it would be best for my and/or my families safety to disappear till things blow over, I could probably live off previsions there for a week or two.. maybe one week longer assuming the Fishing and/or hunting is good..

We have a decent track record of being nice to the locals (most of the time)...

On-topic, nope.

I have no long term survival plans.

My short term survival plans are to go to the kitchen and get me some Oreos.

Sneak into the OP's house when things hit the fan and steal his plan.

Survive by mostly any means necessary. By mostly, I mean I'm not the type to go around killing innocents... but if you attack first, prepare to have your corpse looted afterwards. Stocking of food, drinking water, weaponry, etc... Also... plans are well and good but they are made to be broken. In the event something happens every thing can go wrong, so on the fly thinking can be much more valuable than a plan. Have a rudimentary idea of what and where, while you keep the smaller details to be determined...

lol at invading Canada. You've got some jaded views on America don't you?
