Kind of a Lore Question...

Post » Mon Sep 29, 2014 2:32 am

I am terrible with Lore. I know many people here are great resources for lore and have a great interest in it. I really did not want to go to the "Lore" section as this is pretty Skyrim specific, yet dealing with the general lore of TES.

After watching the movie Thor the other day, I got an idea to roll up a 2-Handed warrior named for some kind of "Hammer of the Gods", like Mjolnir. Is there such a weapon in TES?

My thinking is thus:

Like Thor, this character (weapon) would be cast down to Tamriel in human form. He (or she) would have to learn what it is like to be human to learn and live accordingly. But is there a weapon similar to Mjolnir that would "fit" with this idea?

I thought about Wuuthrad, but discarded for 2 reasons:

1) It is already in the game thus negating my backstory, and

2) It is an axe, not hammer :)

Goldbrand, not present in Skyrim, could work if I chose a blade character, so something similar would be nice. Is this making any sense?

Probably Wuuthrad is what you're looking for in the sense that the devs wanted it to be their Mjolnir but it still isn't.

Stendarr's Hammer appeared in the Tribunal expansion of Morrowind. It's an enormous two-handed hammer.

Tbh, I am not the best with lore but I do know a few really good 2H hammers.

I'll put them in spoilers. The first is in the Skyrim and Oblivion.

Spoiler
Volendrung you can get from a daedric quest

This one is in vanilla Skyrim.

Spoiler
the Longhammer in Liars Retreat

Last one is if you have Dragonborn.

Spoiler
the Champion's Cudgel found in Fort Frostmoth on Solsthiem

Looked it up. That thing is unbelievable xD

OT, perhaps you'd have to make your own? While you have been cast down and that, perhaps you could fit it into your story to actually forge your own godhammer? Then you could RP possibly even inheriting it on another character? :)

Thanks for the ideas, all :)

That is not a bad idea. I'll have to think on this one. (I'll definitely roll another character afterwards :) )

I'd choose Champion's Cudgel from Dragonborn probably looks like Thor's hammer the most.

There might not be any Goldbrand but you can get a Katana (the sword it's based off) as the "Blades sword" in skyrim during the main quest or pickpocket/Kill the guy at nightingale Inn. you can then add an fire enchantment to make it like Goldbrand. :chaos:

An Unique one can also be early in-game found at:

Spoiler
Bloated man's grotto BUT before "I'll met by moonlight" as that quest changes the Grotto. DawnGaurd also add two more Katana's, one belongs to Harkon and the priest guy has the other one.
