JPMorgan Chase Hacked, 83 Million entities compromised

Because that http://www.cbsnews.com/news/56-million-accounts-at-risk-in-home-depot-hack/ a few weeks ago of 56 million wasn't bad enough and it's been a while since we've seen a major financial institution get hacked.

Thankfully looks like no important information was taken, but it'll be interesting to see how this unfolds as to how the information was obtained. Expect influx of spam to your email and make sure to check your credit reports for nothing odd.

It's good that I have no investments.....

It looks like all they got was information that is, or was, contained in a phone book. So, not too worried about this.

Indeed. Given that it's a financial institution you would expect them to do a better job of segmenting information and using encryption than the likes of Home Depot. I still wish there was a law that forced companies to release the information on how the hack occured, I'm very curious as to how this happened given that it's such a high profile target that shouldn't be easily compromised since there's so little that is customer-facing (and what there is customer-facing is separated by 3 inches of bullet-resistant glass).
