Divath Fy ?Lich?

You can't base that off of any true lore though. It's moreso a guess more than anything.

Concerning the Tribunal's fate, which i haven't really done a lot of thinking about, I think the gods are moreso just...fully sleep now...rather than TRULY dead; Vivec elaborates on this idea a small bit close to the end of Morrowind.

Well there is that small matter of the Earthbones and the Forest God Yffre - if he is coming back as the Precursor is said to claim, then we have to wonder if the other Earthbones are too? And they were all said to have 'died' so that would tend to support Vivec's notion.

Indeed it would.

I wonder what exactly a "living" earth bone could teach the Bosmer? At first glance, I'd expect a Dragon Break, but in the end it could just be some nonsensical rambling taken from true information.

I've been slacking in reading, so I couldn't really say.

Well, he might teach them how to become Fargoths :D Imagine it- every living Bosmer has 400 luck!

I was working up a beautiful Quest for the Earthbones before some nitwits interfered - sigh ... it had Lore and everything ...

Some people don'y appreciate the diffence between Lore as written in-game and what potential Lore in a mod is = not the same thing. The one you have to follow precisely or you make no sense and the other is the fun land of might be.

Isn't a 'living earthbone' a paradox???

I honestly don't see how anyone could view Fyr as being undead.

He's an extremely old, extremely powerful wizard. What more explanation do you need? To me, it seems like common sense.
....oh no, I think it's happened. I've finally become jaded in the Lore forum.

That's generally the way I see it. You hear all the time about telvanni using necromancy to extend their lifespan, but it never includes actually dying. And someone brought up the psijic thing already. they tend to use some kind of magic to live a long time, but none (or at least an extraordinarily small amount) of them are undead.

That's because necromancy doesn't just encompass bringing back the dead; it involves tugging on the strings of life itself. It's really not far-fetched that necromancy could encompass using the life force to extend someone's lifespan.

People have this really quaint idea necromancy only encompasses making zombies or becoming a lich. It doesn't.

Meh. Magic is stasis, not exactly, but close enough. Stasis prevents change, thus aging. No need to assume Necromancy when there is nothing that indicates this is indeed the case and absolutely no need for it.

Fyr not using Necromancy as his anti-wrinkle cream also makes all the Necromancers look a little less silly for attempting to become Liches, why die when you don't need to?

Everyone knows liches are magically delicious, proweler.

Liichdom means more than living forever. It means, "Whoo! As long as people don't find my phalachery, I'll live forever!"

shhh - don'y mention such things in a pubic place!

Hmm - since this is asking if Divath is a Liche and Divath has somany wrinkles and it appears that lichedom is attempted for the purpose of replacing anti-wrinkle cream I suspect we have solved this one :)

btw - I am looking at creating a Necromancers' Guild mod and was wondering what you guys think about how they would behave in a Guild. Remembering that before necromancy was outlawed most of the senior personnel in the Mages Guild were Necros ...

Where is the most likely place in tamriel for this?

Would Divath give them the time of day?

Erm. TES liches only use a phylactery as an intermediate step while becoming a lich. After that, it's inconsequential. Whether the soul then rejoins the body yet or not is unknown, but considering the whole point of the phylactery is to separate it, I'd surmise that dying for a lich may be somewhat similar to dying for a daedra. If they can find another uninhabited body, they could take possession of it. Though they might need someone else to actually 'enchant' the body, reanimate it, give it the (magical) means to move, etc. But this is all conjecture.
