The First Vampire

Post » Tue Oct 07, 2014 5:48 pm

Just having a chat with Serana, I was curious about "The First Vampire."

Is she still around?

Is her fate known?

Who was she, this poor unwilling convert?

Just curious is all :)

She apparently shows up in person in Elder Scrolls Online, but I haven't played that, so someone else will have to fill you in on that. Otherwise, those two links should help. :)

I believe it's http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Lamae_Beolfag. The wiki pretty much just tells what's show in game. I have no clue where she is currently, I just know she rises up from a pool of blood to greet you, the area she is in can only be accessed by vampires, no mortal can ever set foot there.

Ninjaed! :D

I'm pretty sure she appears in TES: Online. She probably is still alive in the Fourth Era. If you can survive for 2500+ years then you certainly have a knack for keeping away from death.

Yep, she is part of the "Scion of the Blood Matron" quest.

Lamae Bal is in fact in ESO. It's how you obtain vampirism. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Online:Scion_of_the_Blood_Matron

There's also a lorebook that goes with the quest. http://esohead.com/books/2061-rite-of-the-scion

I just found her book (on my way to the Soul Cairn)! Gonna give it a good read next time I play :)

Ah that's right, there is a copy in Valerica's lab. Appropriate place for it. It's a short read, but pretty interesting, since it's wildly different than other vampire origins in other things. Another good one, though a bit longer, is Immortal Blood. Loved the ending of that one, and you actually meet the vampire from it in a quest in Skyrim.

Laid to Rest in Morthal. Incidentally, his race used to be randomly generated, but if you have Dawnguard installed he has a set appearance which might be either a Breton or Imperial.

Yes. Immortal Blood I recall reading about the time (before or after, I do not recall) of meeting him. That made that encounter so much cooler
