uriel septim had no grandsons or great grandsons?

Post » Wed Oct 08, 2014 1:11 am

i find it hard to believe that geldall, enman and ebel septim who died at ages 56, 55 ,53 respectively had no children of their own or even grandchildren for that matter. there is a bunch of dialogue that mentions the emperor was assassinated, as were his 3 remaining heirs, but no mention of septim grandchildren being assassinated or anything like that at all. was there any explanation for why uriels children were so old and still childless?? it seems like such a dumb thing to overlook

There were some legitimacy concerns about his sons anyway. Some suspected that they were actually fathered by Jagar Tharn and not Uriel. This may have made them unpopular prospects for marriage, since we're talking aristocracy here. No one wanted to risk marrying someone who turned out to not even be an heir.

It's also possible that they were all killed. Think Human-Nobel start in Dragon Age; Origins. Likely, the Mythic Dawn murdered the entire family, so even if Uriel's sons had children, they were not long for the world after their fathers.

I always read that people didn't trust Uriel sons because they belived that they were Daedras summoned by Jagar disguised as Uriel sons, rather then that people thought they were Tharn children.

That's probably what I'm remembering... Either way though, the point is that no body trusted their legtimact. That kinda makes it hard to marry them off.

so the alternative is not marrying them because of crazy superstitions and letting the septim bloodline die?? if that was the plan then i guess the mythic dawn werent needed at all

needless to say i dont believe this theory

Why not? Uriel wasn't even a descendant of Tiber Septim anyway. Nor was he particularly well liked, either by the Provincials or the Nobility of Cyrodiil. Not only that, but the actual worked mgs of the Dragonfires were not particularly well known. Jauffrie himself says most people view the Dragon Throne as the symbol of power and authority, barely anyone even recognises the Amulet of Kings.

Let's face it, the majority of Tamriel wouldn't give a rats ass about the bloodline ending. This is all before Talos becomes the head of the Pantheon.
