Should Zombies Be Allowed Into Our Pop Culture?

From The Walking Dead to Dead Rising, Zombies have been in pop culture for years; but should movies, games. Tv shows and books etc. be made? Games such as Black Ops have made zombies "cool" again but should the violence be cut or is it the charm of the zombie?

They are already zombie survival guides, zombie TV shows, zombie games (You'd be hard pressed to find a game series without zombies going back 30 years. I bet there's even a zombie Tetris, or even a zombie checkers). They are already proliferated into popculture, so you can't remove them now. Sorry.

I don't want to remove them I was just wondering what people's opinions are on the whole zombie pop culture and if its overused.

What's your problem with zombie? Zombies are a part of 'popular culture' because, would you believe, they are popular? And who would have the authority, or desire, to demand that this isn't so? Would you do away with the fantastic Walking Dead or the excellent Dead Set? Would you disparage 28 Days Later, mock Zombieland, refuse to allow people to watch Shaun of the Dead, remove Dead Bodies from history? Would you burn every copy of the incredible book World War Z? As for games, I love Dead Island, CoD zombies is a fantastic co-operative game to play with mates on a sofa, Dead Rising is an epic series, The Walking Dead games are exceptional and I would be extremely enjoyed if someone decided they didn't want zombies to be popular anymore so pulled the release of Dying Light.

Honestly, what a strange question. You are basically asking, should zombies be a popular monster? Yes, they combine our fear of confined spaces, of the dark, of other humans, of savage animals and of contagious disease. They are a fascinating enemy and deserve their place in today's society.

Is it overused? Yes. Do I enjoy zombie/infected culture? Yes.

I agree with you their, I'm a huge fan of zombies personally. The Walking Dead games and tv show, comics are incredible. I heard Z Nation is good as well. But some people hate zombies, some say they're like marmite.

I don't think it should but it can be funny if done right. There was a game (forget which one )where the Austrailian version had rainbows instead of blood/gore come out of injuries zombies received. I'm sure not too many Australians who played the game felt that way though.
