Posting is very difficult on this forum.

Posting is very difficult to do on this forum as you cannot cut and paste worth crap in the editor and when you try to quote someone the quote never shows up in the editor so you never know which if any quote you are replying to.

Please fix.

P.S. I like how it was before at least then you could copy and paste and see the quotes you were replying to.

Have you tried any other browser? Does it work there?

Press the switch icon in the upper left of the reply box to switch to BBCode mode if you want to see quote tags and paste things without the extra formatting.

That's what I have to do when I'm on my computer. Not a problem at all on my phone.

Hmmm, that's odd I don't have this problem. I don't know if there are some personal setting or something you could try. It could be the browser though.

I have tried Internet Explorer 11, which is the one that doesn't work so far. Firefox seems to work well so far.

So I noticed, but it is usless if you don't know the BBC codes and there isn't a list of them in that mode to help you use them.

Only IE 11 so far, I don't know about the browsers on my phone yet.

Thanks for your quick response everyone.

Personally, I use firefox and I use this forum just fine. Perhaps give firefox a go? (Which your recent post says you have.)

Yes, the forum software here isn't the best (it's better then Reddit though) and I do use any opportunity to bring up that vBulletin is pretty much the best. I don't think Bethesda will change it though. I use the BBCode button on the top left of the post control panel like others here too. You can also click on the gear image on the far right othe the toolbar and check the "paste as plain text" option which your profile should remember.

Anyway, my gripes with this forum software:

When using BBCode mode and the editing field is not in focus your text darkens to near invisible levels.

Script heavy main page takes forever to load.

Community board (off-topic) lists "hits" an not new posts.

Hovering over threads opens a massive pop-up containing some profile info on the OP that intercepts clicks taking you to their profile page instead of the thread.

Thread preview uses scripts and must load instead of being a simple hover over thread for non-obstructive preview.

This place somehow unselects dictionaries in Firefox.

Paste formatted text turned on by default.

Yeah, the forum software can be a pain at times. I just wish the forum had a spell checker.

Yeah I noticed and unless you know the BBC codes or where to get them the BBC code mode doesn't help very you much.

So do I, which is why it made me mad when I couldn't copy and paste.

You would think that it would be IE that would work and that Firefox would be the one to have the problems. I will use Firefox to post here from here on out.

I also wish this forum as well as all of the other forums would have a Sticky that would give a basic overview on how to use the forum editor as different forums use different editors sometimes depending on the forum.

I know that in firefox if you ctrl+c someones post that has quotes in it you have to get rid of the speech bubble icon (top right) otherwise the forum will complain about trying to post images. Can be a pain in the butt sometimes.

I have these same issues and I use Internet Explorer as well. Would probably be wise to switch to something like Firefox myself, but I have yet to do it for whatever reason.

If it makes you feel any better, an easy way to get by the quoting issue is simply right clicking on the quote button and opening a new tab from there. You'll have a separate tab where the quote will be in your reply. As for the copy/paste issue, I've sort of gotten used to just typing out links these days.

Mobile version is better than the desktop version. Go figure.

Internet Explorer has been a second-rate browser for years. Firefox is cross-platform (works exactly the same in Windows, Mac OSX, and Linux), and is the closest thing to a "standard browser" that there is.
