Hallo community.
After a break from the game I wanted to invest some time into fixing my Morrowind instalation I have somehow broken some months ago. I have posted my problems in the http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1506615-morrowind-not-launching-after-a-longer-pause-advice-needed/ but maybe it didn't get enough attention there, maybe I was not ambitious enough so eventually I got frustrated and lost interest in the matter.
Now it's my second try, I don't want to lose this game, I have spent so much time playing, optimizing and adding mods to it, it's a real pain to think it's gone. This time I will take some more time and patience and try not to make any mistakes or rush things (probably this are the sources of my problem) and I kindly ask for support and help for my problem. I will try to answer all questions as good as possible and post all requested log-data, load order etc.
First a summary of my problem:
1. My game: MSGO + several additional mods like TR + Stuporstars Uvirith's mods. Played it over a year without issues.
2. Installed Skyrim two months ago, played it for some days. Inbetween switched back to MW - no problems.
3. Had to deinstall Skyrim and make a fresh install. Used CCleaner to delete old registries prior reinstalation. Worked fine... for Skyrim.
4. Several weeks later tried to launch MW again, this time it did not launch.
I can start the game and get into the main menue - here the screen resolution is reset to default. As I try to load a save the game CTDs while loading the content.
I can't even start a new game.
Things I tried to fix the problem:
CCleaner makes a backup of the files it deletes. I restored those but it did not help.
Unfortunatelly my Win 7 system backups did not help me either.
Tried to reset some MSGO options as I thought it could be distant land but had no success with this.
I think that my MW folder is not defect, but some settings or registries have been swept clean while I was messing with Skyrim.
Now I look for a safe way to restore the enviroment for my MW-folder. Maybe there is a standard procedure to check if my game is broken or not, or if some data is missing? Maybe someone run into a similiar problem and can help me?
One of my ideas is to back-up the MW on an external drive, then delete everything MW related from my PC and reinstall MSGO from scratch. This should create the enviroment needed for my old MW folder. I don't know if this would be good? Maybe I would overwrite some essential data or else.
This is enough for now, I will gather some more data and post it later.
