arent breton biologically human?

i wanted ideas

i read in uesp and wiki that breton are human and elf combo

well i dont see any physical elf characteristic

and on the abilities all they have is some magic resist (which kinda translates to fire lightning and ice, more like elemental resistance)

so you dont say nord frost resist is magic, well nor should breton be

so essensially i could say elves may have taught bretons magic or so

but genetically in all aspects i think bretons are human

They're a mixture of man and mer. Can't really explain to you why they look human and lack elven features, but because of their elven side they inherited the ability to be skilled in magic, perhaps the human part was a more dominant trait like brown eyes is to green. Elves have always been natural users of magic and that is why Bretons are gifted in the arts of magic and have a natural resistance to magic. Think of it as inheriting a human look, but inheriting the elven side of being able to caste magic instead of doing melee like the other human categories do naturally. I guess Bethesda made it so people who don't want to use an Elven character, yet want a human spell caster and that is probably how the Breton came to be with a racial back story.

Yeah, you're right about them being more human than elf, physically.

Story goes that they're the result of interbreeding of elven masters and Nedic slaves. Over time the Elven features were dilluted due to intermingling with the other human races to the point where only the Breton nobles have any notable elven traits (like long ears).

The magic resistance is an inherited trait, which is actually magical in nature (they're so attuned to magic they resist it, the opposite of Altmer). The same can probably be said of the Nords (possibly due to interbreeding with Falmer, who are attuned to Frost) and Dunmer's resistances.

I always more-or-less, accepted them as being from England, Hence, the, "Breton" aludation to Briton. Just like "Nord" has reference to the Northmen, also in Europe.

When it comes down to it; though, I suppose that you can put any class or nationality reference that you want on any of the stock from Skyrim, even if told otherwise, as it's your game now, and you can play/roleplay it, however you see fit.

They technically encompass all of Europe--specifically Celtic Europe (there's an RL ethnic group called Bretons in northern France btw), with elements of Britons, French and maaaaybe Spanish (Those in Wayrest?).

Also, das rassist.

Mainly the Altmer felt that the other races could benefit from their blood and the Bretons were a result of that. So I wouldn't say they are fully biologically human in general. They are their own race as the name stands.. Breton.

Well I'm not sure if the creation of the race was intentional.

Now correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure that in the TES games people look more like their mother as far as racial features (example: They Gray Prince). So to me, it isn't really a huge mystery why they look human.

I just realized something. They do take after the mother of the other species. But wasn't the Grey Princes father a Vampire Imperial in some tomb some where?

Kind of bad to hand the journal to The Grey Prince because than he becomes suicidal upon learning he's pretty much a half bred Orc who is half vampire....pretty much a dampir ( Blade type - Daywalker vampire).

It also ruins the final match stands in the middle of the arena not fighting but repeatedly saying:

And if you kill him you get a point in infamy. So I quit doing that quest since it is pretty much an automatic win in and not even a fair fight when challenging him.
