(for the millionth time) Making Tilesets tileable?

Post » Fri Oct 17, 2014 6:27 pm

So, this question has probably been asked a million times over by modelers over the years, but I don't know the answer, so I'm here. :P

How does one make tilesets that are tileable using gridsnap? I'm using Blender, for reference.

I know the game's meshes have a certain scale that they need to be at in order to tile, but I'm not aware of what that is and how to match it. I made a simple tileable tileset for one of my mods already, but it assumably doesn't work with gridsnap, so I have to zoom in really close and try to get it to match up. If this can be avoided, I'd love to learn how.

I still have a number of tilesets I need to create for my mod and having them actually tile with gridsnap would make landscaping and interior building a million times easier.

Thanks in advance! :)

You could have imported a tileable model in Blender and take those measures, it's not off after importing into blender. 12.800 from the zero (that is 25.600 x 25.600) is the standard, small floor tile.
