Washed out colors or tv settings?

Hi everybody,

I'm trying to figure out whether the Evil Within (on ps4) has a texture filter with rather washed out colors, or if it's just not jiving well with my tv. I have a great plasma tv-- a Panasonic Viera-- and I noticed that on the brightness settings, even going to 100 does not display a middle symbol. If I go below 80 or so, many areas are simply too dark to navigate.

The colors in the game are very washed out. They are so faded that the game often appears almost black and white, or perhaps sepia toned. I'm trying to figure out whether this is a stylistic choice, or if it's a side effect of having to turn my brightness setting too high. Either way , I wish the video settings had a gamma control!

Other PS4 players, let me know what your experiences have been. Btw, b/c of my tv's deep blacks, I often can't see the brightness adjustment symbol in games... However this has never effected the quality of a game's colors before the Evil Within.

Thanks for your feedback!

The game colors are desaturated, that's the style of the game. About the brigthness, change your tv settings.

The game colors are at TIMES, desaturated. They aren't always.

You need to change your TV brightness/contrast and then revisit the brightness menu.
