Discussion about Dremora and the Realm of Oblivion

Post » Mon Oct 20, 2014 11:18 am

So I am making some stuff in relation to Dremora but there is some information that doesnt seem readily available. I was hoping to probe the minds of the forum for what information does exist and work out the info that doesnt exist.

Dremora, the sentient warrior-race native to the Deadlands of Oblivion (and other realms it seems) are by far one of my favorite things in the Elder Scrolls but their info tends to only be skin deep. Only a few books in the games tell us much about their culture and goals. What i want to know is some the basic things like how are they born, how long do they actually live, do they age into the elderly, how do they come into the service of other Daedric Princes like Molag Bal, can Dremora worship other Princes or are they just always "mercenaries" for them during their own conquests, stuff like this.

Also a discussion on the nature of Oblivion itself. In Oblivion, specifically the Deadlands (Mehrunes Dagon's realm), does time pass the same in relation to Nirn and do they have their own calendar? How do they tell time since it appeared in TES IV Oblivion that there is no "sun or moon" so they must have some other method? Do they use Tamriel's time-keeping method and if so how do they know what time it is in Nirn? Also since Dagon wasnt invading Tamriel 100% of the time throughout history but his people are a warrior-race made for fighting how does their existence function without someone to fight, especially after TES IV when they can no longer invade at all?

SO i would appreciate any and all info that you can either provide or at least speculate on

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Spirit_of_the_Daedra's a good start. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Varieties_of_Daedra also has some things on Dremora.

Quite useful, anything else?

Actually a part of that brings up an odd observation: Under the Clan Bond it says "The clan-form is strong. It shapes body and thought". Does this have a meaning similar to Khajiit who's "form" is different depending on the moons at birth? Upon "creation" do Dremora have a different appearance based on some kind of unknown factor?

The Dremora don't just purely fight us mortals. There's rival Daedra and the like to deal with as well.

Are there any recorded instances of inter-Daedra wars? Just in 1 realm or across the realms with other princes. Now that i think of it maybe when Jyggalag got too powerful Mehrunes Dagon and his Dremora were there fighting him and his knights of Order off until the curse was made by all the Princes
