just finished evil within heres what ruined the experiance

ok 1st off it was a good game, i enjoyed it enough to see it through to the end, and i do want to play through it again BUT thers issues...

the pace was a little iffy and slow and i didnt like haveing to go to the hospital everytime to save etc, that got boring fast

the mechanics could be tightend up a little too because he moves slow and thers no escape method when your in a tight corner surrounded by enemys,

i also hated the enemys coming back to life even when you shoot them to bits it was very annoying having to burn them everytime,

also thers a massive lack of ammo i found myself having to litterally run past all the enemys to get to the next section because of no ammo

then thers those horrible black bars, i was hoping after completing the game you could turn that off but apparently not, these ruin the experiance big time you just cant really see very much which adds nothing but frustration,

also the 30fps frame rate is a big deal it just doesnt look good nor is it any good for a 3rd person game it makes the game look crappy in motion

if the ps4 cant do this game in 60fps then why not go 50 fps? but 30 looks bad we have all those nice detailed graphics but they are hamperd by the framerate

also the main character is boring and very wooden, this game could have been so much better

as i said i do want to play it through again but i just cant be botherd with the way the game currently is,

would an update be possible to sort the framerate and black bars? those are the 2 main techincal problems

if not i will REALLY be questioning buying any sequel or dlc to this

the good stuff was the meaty weapons and the bullet damage on the enemys is awesome, sound is great the chainsaw guy was cool

and yes i would like to see a sequel but not if it has those issues

There is meant to be little ammo and the pace is meant to be slow. Its a survival game, if you got by the enemies without shooting them down, good on ya :) Sebastian is a bit dry, but thats his character. If I had been through what he had, even before the nightmare, I wouldn't be in the talking mood. He's mind is focused on the job, getting out in one piece lol
I do agree with the bars, It didn't bother me, but on NIGHTMARE mode. I found it really hard to get the angles in to see what was approaching, or if I was fleeing, I would end up running into something, but I can live with it. People can't see through walls, just have to listen and wait carefully. Can't wait for the DLC
Plus the first run through the game is always the hardest. Once you get on game+ you keep your upgrades, so the crit/ damage etc is better, leaving less ammo wasted. :D

Sorry, but your first complaints make it seem as if you don't fully understand what survival horror is.

It's slow, suspenseful. Low on ammo and resources, out numbered and overpowered.

It's not the "action horror" style of the Dead Space series or recent Resident Evil games.

Not sure how people are saying the pace is slow... I'm honestly always moving from one crisis to the next. Sounds like the COD crowd is getting a little too ADD.

Remember watching my brother playing Resident Evil 2 back in the day. If he missed a shot, he would restart from the save point and do it over and over till he did it right, using as little ammo as he could, so he'd make sure he had enough down the line, I didn't get it at first, and small parts of the game used to take him hours, but He completed it with flying colours by the end, TEW is that kind of a game, feels worth the effort in the end, I just like the realism on the harder modes. You get your throat sliced.. you gonna die :P it makes the game so much scarer and fun, but It does takes me a lot to lose my temper, but half knowing a stage might take me several tries. Well you expect to be killed. I love seeing a hopeless situation, say like chapter 3 on NIGHTMARE. my mouth dropped lol seeing what I had to do, but... by the 4th, 5th try. I did it whoop whoop
