what are your hobbies?

Post » Mon Oct 27, 2014 8:00 pm

so, aside from gaming, what other Hobbies do you have you use to pass the time?

I've got several..

I watch alot of Anime and read Manga..
I build Models from scratch, at the moment I am building a model of the Golden Hind (a British Galleon captained by Francis Drake)
I love reading into world History and the current political state around the world
I often go Fishing and have taken a keen interest in competitive Archery
I am a regular at a local pool hall
I occasionally play a round of D&D (2nd or 3rd edition) with a few other people in town
and I build and fix computers, which i either keep for my collection or sell for a small profit

So, other than gaming, what other hobbies do you have? and what first made you take an interest in them?

Anime + Manga

Reading tech stuff

Experimenting with tech stuff

And that's really it. Hardly ever play games anymore (the biggest exception is Pokemon, which will randomly be given 20 hours every couple months)

Kyaking and fishing are more seasonal hobbies for me.. but I do spend a lot of spring - fall up north at my cottage on the lake.

Uhh..aside from that, I enjoy taking photos (particularly of the night sky), drawing and playing the piano.

Gaming!

Oh. Bugger.

Various things tend to wander in and out of vogue with me at any given time, but assorted things that regularly feature are photography, cooking, playing bass and gardening. I don't claim to be any good at any of them, but they seem to keep me amused.

I read a lot. Mostly sci-fi stuff, though my 300+ collection is quite varied.

Home renovation projects. Latest was refinishing hardwood in the dining room and living room that was the orginal floor when my house was built in 1930 but was covered by carpet when I bought the place.

Beer.

Cigarettes.

River floats when it's nice out during the summer.

Playing guitar and bass.

Cooking. Not just because I have to eat, but because I like making good food when I have to eat.

Smoking, now I smoke e-cigs, but it's as enjoyable. Chatting. Reading up on games. Watching tv. Arguing about stuff I have neither a stake in or any idea about.

Hmm, Hobbies?

Well, I like to travel around on my motorcycle and take pictures of nature or places I've visited. The shots aren't that good and all, but I like to keep em for memories. I'm not too sure when I started taking pictures, but I'v been traveling every since I could use a Metro-card(Bus pass or w/e you call it). Nine times out of ten I never care for WHERE I'm going. I mean, The saying about the Journey beating the destination is all too true for me. I've got lots of pictures of deer, black bears, one lone wolf, a coyote, some foxes, trees, sunsets etc. It's fun for me. :)

I also like to do...other stuff for...other reasons..

I've gotten into playing classical/flamenco guitar I bought a nylon string guitar and I'm currenty learning to play a song called el toro malaguana by gustavo canabarro its coming along very nicely. though picking slowly with the thumb while at the same time having the index finger and middle finger picking the strings in quick sussesion is proving to be incredibly difficult. but I'm proud of the progress I'm making.

Mostly I just listen to music. I play some games now and then, read and post on forums, read stories or comics/manga, watch shows. Less often I'll do some basic image editing, mostly captions and memetic stuff.

Well, I'd say a small amount of traveling along with photography, reading (mostly car magazines right now, even though the better ones have gotten merged with their knock-offs), craft/hobby things, fixing things (if there is anything to fix), wasting time on the ol' computer (too much, in fact), listening to music, watching TV or movies, putting things together (I'm on a slippery slope, there are some Star Wars Lego sets that have caught my eye but I should save my money.....), a bit of cooking, um,,..... is this list making sense? :P I guess collecting stuff is a hobby too (junk, swords, ideas, stuff I never finish...).

I spend wayyyy too much time on the internet. Posting on forums and watching science documentaries/listening to lectures

I really like making music and jamming with my band. I want to start singing  .. right now I just play guitar or write with my computer.

Modding. Gaming forums. Walking.

I guess my ultimate hobby would be writing posts about modding to a gaming forum while I'm out walking. :D

Gee what a tough question, years ago I would have said Cosmology, Physics, Canyoning, Taekwondo, and Robotics. These days I'm really just modding, I am developing a forum habit but I'm not sure wether it's a healthy thing or not.
