She doesn't give you the quest. It's a small thing that happens when you bring her an item which you can find in Raven Rock. Just look around, don't spoil it for yourself.
She doesnt give it to you. You get it on Solstheim
You'll get better as you play the game. I think its like that with every TES game. It takes some getting used to. Just have a lot of fun
You have to be a member of the Thieves Guild to access it. Once you are, get familiar with the other members, then see if you can recognize any names in Raven Rock.
I don't find it to be. I appreciated the way it rounded out the backstories of two PCs, in addition to the material rewards.
In it's defense, I think the "beginning and middle" is the best part of the quest.
EDIT: I'm starting to think I might be thinking of a different quest though. They all mix togheter after a while...
I'd generally agree with that. The closure and subsequent received reward is typically what interests me least in RPGs anyway.
Playing for "bling" is not my style either. That's why I love playing old RPG's such as the Ultima series, the story is more rewarding than just getting a 1000 coins and a overpowered weapon.
It has always bothered me that a farmer can fork out 1000 gold coins and a magic war axe as a reward, but when you try to barther with him he can only afford to buy a carrot. :S
On a side note: I feel as though treasure in the ES games has really declined. I am not a loot hoarder, but at the end of a dungeon crawl, I'd like to have a shot at finding something unique, and not just a piece of level scaled equipment that boosts a skill. This was handled better in earlier titles, in my opinion.
The farmer cannot barter with you anymore because they handed over their life savings to you in gratitude for killing that skeever. Yeah, that's it!
And that's enough OT from me.
